Andrea Pacifici was born in Rome, 1966. Since 2010, he is an Associate Professor in Operations Research at DICII, Università di Roma Tor Vergata. His research interests focus on combinatorial algorithms with applications to scheduling, logistics, manufacturing and transportation systems.
He coauthored more than 50 works dealing with the design and analysis of decision models for resource allocation, computational complexity characterisation, design of exact and approximate algorithms for multi-agent and nonlinear combinatorial optimization problems; design and implementation of simulation models for control policies evaluation in complex systems.
Former appointments and achievements include: (2016) Full professorship national habilitation in Operations Research. (1999-2010) Assistant professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Università di Roma Tor Vergata. (2004) Visiting Faculty at ATLAS Research Center, The University of Arizona, Tucson (AZ). (1997-2000) Research fellow at Dipartimento di Informatica e Automazione, Università degli Studi Roma Tre. (1997) Visiting Scholar at the System and Industrial Engineering Dept., The University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona. (1996) Research fellow at the CNR (Italian National Research Council). (1997) PhD in Operations Research at Università di Roma La Sapienza. (1993) "Laurea" degree in Electronic Engineering with full marks at Università di Roma La Sapienza.
