Board of Governors
The Board of Governors is the governing body established by the University Statute. There are 12 members, one of whom is elected as Chair at the first meeting. The Board of Governors is appointed for a period of 4 years, acts by absolute majority and governs the teaching and support activities as well as the assets of the University. Responsibilities of the Board include appointment of the Rector and the Director of Administration; approval of University regulations, the annual budget and three-year development plan that forms the foundation for the University's aims; appointment of academic staff as proposed by the Recruitment and Promotion Board.

Academic Senate
The Academic Senate is an advisory and recommendatory committee comprising the Rector as Chair, the Deputy Rectors, Departmental Directors (or Deputy Directors) and the Director of Administration. The President of the Student Council may join the committee for resolutions on specific issues, with full voting rights. Academic Senate decisions are made by absolute majority.
