Anti-Covid measures: new provisions from May 2022

Following the new provisions in force from Sunday 1 May 2022 and as indicated by the ordinance of the Ministry of Health of 28 April, the university community students, (teaching and non-teaching staff) and any external users will be required to comply with the measures listed below.

In short, the Green Pass is no longer necessary. The use of the mask remains mandatory inside university buildings. It is also mandatory to use FFP2 masks for indoor shows and sports activities.


Access to universities and use of masks

All users, both internal to the university community and external (e.g. suppliers), can access the university facilities without the need for a Green Pass.

It is still mandatory, inside classrooms and indoor spaces and more generally in university buildings, to use a mask to protect the respiratory tract.

Access to universities with a body temperature above 37.5 ° and / or with obvious symptoms in the respiratory tract (cough, cold, sore throat, burning eyes, difficulty in breathing) is prohibited.


Use of didactic activities

The teaching activities of the academic year 2021-2022 of the campuses of Rome, Palermo and Taranto take place primarily in the presence. Attendance in the classroom, remains the preferable solution for a gradual return to normality but, in synchronous mode, for any specific need.


Indoor sports and shows

For participation in special initiatives that take place indoors, such as theatrical, musical and sporting events and competitions, it remains the obligation to wear an FFP2 type mask.

This category includes the closed appointments of the LUMSA Spring Festival, the University Theater Laboratory and the Language Theater Laboratory of the CLIC Language Center.


Information for classroom attendance

Access to the classrooms to attend lessons in person is allowed to students and students who have made a reservation using the special LUMSA Student Booking web app (Student Booking User Guide).

In the event of symptoms related to Covid-19 and waiting for the results of a possible covid test, it is necessary to cancel the booking and not go to the University.


Remote frequency information

Remote attendance does not require any type of reservation and allows you to follow the lessons, live, through the use of Google Meet (accessible with your university email account @ and the use of links generated directly by the professors and published on their personal pages.

The remote management of further aspects related to the frequency of the single course is possible through Classroom and Moodle (finding lesson materials, interacting with the professor, etc.).

Summer and autumn session exams

The exams for the 2021-2022 summer session will be held entirely in person.


Graduation sessions

Graduation sessions are held in person, except for those who tested positive for Covid-19, with the possibility for family members to be present within the capacity limits of the classroom where the discussion takes place.


Admission test to degree courses 2022-2023

The procedures for carrying out the admission tests for the next academic year's degree courses do not change. The tests are held remotely, in accordance with the provisions of the 2022-2023 Admission Calls, with the exception of the test dedicated to the degree course in Primary Education.

Admission tests to the TFA Sostegno - VII Ciclo

The procedures for carrying out the admission tests to the VII Cycle of the Specialization Course for support activities for pupils with disabilities do not undergo any changes. The tests are carried out in person in accordance with the provisions of the Ministry of University and Research and the LUMSA University Admission Notice.

Admission to Research Doctorates - XXXVIII Cycle

The procedures for carrying out the admission tests to the PhD courses of the XXXVIII Cycle are held in person in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Admission notices, available shortly in the Research Doctorates section.


Masters and postgraduate courses

For specific information on individual masters and post-graduate courses, interested parties are invited to consult the LUMSA Master School website ( and to refer to the tutors or to the representatives of the individual courses.


Vaccination obligation and provisions for staff

The vaccination obligation for all university staff, regardless of age, in force since 1 February, except in cases of exemption, will remain in force until 15 June 2022. For those who do not fulfil this obligation, the sanctioning regime of the Ministry of Health will remain.
