Research at LUMSA

Scientific research at LUMSA is embedded in the teaching program, for the benefit of the individual and the community. The University promotes and supports basic and interdisciplinary research, which is essential for the welfare of contemporary society.
At LUMSA we strive to create the optimum conditions to enable researchers to push the boundaries of knowledge and develop international networks, within a high quality, competitive environment.

The University Centre for Research and Internationalisation (Centro di Ateneo per la ricerca e l'internazionalizzazione - CARI), is our reference body for promoting research and internationalisation.

The Ethics Committee for Scientific Research (Comitato Etico per la Ricerca Scientifica - CERS), is an independent organisation set up by the Board of Governors. Its remit is to evaluate and express opinions on research proposals submitted by scholars at LUMSA, in compliance with Italian and European legislation on scientific research.

The Scientific Research Office keeps researchers at the University constantly updated by organising information and training days and sponsoring scouting, planning and reporting activities for competitive projects in Italy, Europe and beyond.

LUMSA is a member of APRE, Agency for the Promotion of Research in Europe, and part of the European network EURAXESS.
