Stefano Biancu (MA in Philosophy - Catholic University of the Sacred Heart Milan/Italy; DEA in Philosophy - University of Geneva/Switzerland; PhD in Philosophy and Human Sciences - University of Perugia/Italy; PhD in Theology - University of Lausanne/Switzerland), is an Associate Professor of Moral Philosophy at the University of Rome-Lumsa where he teaches several courses in the field of Moral Philosophy (at both graduate and undergraduate level).

He is also the Coordinator of the Academic Board of the PhD programme "Contemporary Humanism" . Additionally he teaches at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Milan/Italy) as an Adjunct Professor .

Previously, he was a Privat-Docent in Ethics at the University of Geneva/Switzerland (2011-2016) and a recurrent Visiting Professor at the Philosophy Faculty of the Gregorian University in Rome/Italy (2016-2018) and at the Pontifical Faculty of Theology in Cagliari/Italy (2007-2016). He served as a Senior Researcher (Post-Doc) in Ethics at the University of Lausanne/Switzerland (2007-2010) and as a Researcher in Ethics at the Center for Religious Studies in Trento/Italy (2012-2016). In 2015 he was a Guest Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Notre Dame (Indiana/USA), in 2020 a Research fellow at the Philosophy Faculty of the Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago/Chile), in 2021 a Visiting Professor at the Research Centre for Theoology and Religious Studies (CITER) of the Catholic University of Portugal (Lisbon).

He is the Editor in Chief of Munera. European Journal of Culture and a member of the scientific board of several journals and books collections (such as: Revue d’Ethique et de Théologie morale/Paris, Intessiture/Mimesis Editore/Milan).

He was awarded by the Centro Nazionale di Studi Leopardiani in Recanati (2003) and by the Faculté de Théologie et de Sciences des Religions of the University of Lausanne (2011). He has obtained the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as a Full Professor of Moral Philosophy (2022) and the French “Qualification” as “Professeur des Universités ” (2018).

Since 2018 he has been an associate member of IRSE (Institut Romand de Systématique et d'Éthique) at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and has worked as an expert of the French National Authority for the Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres - Haut conseil de l’évaluation de la recherche et de l’enseignement supérieur).

He is a member of the following Scientific Societies : SIFM (Società Italiana di Filosofia morale), ATEM (Association de théologiens pour l'étude de la morale), Fondazione Centro Studi Filosofici di Gallarate.
